Hot IT Jobs in Retail

Perhaps in no other market segment is there a greater emphasis on solid business skills than in the retail arena. Retail organizations demand that their IT personnel understand how technologies will be applied and integrated in every facet of a retail business: supply-chain logistics, business intelligence and analytics, channel sales coordination, merchandising, procurement, pricing, store operations, inventory control, point-of-sale hardware and software, transaction security, and payment processing.

The diverse nature of the retail industry means that even in a tight economic climate, a wide variety of jobs continue to be available. In fact, a recent global search returned 230 listings for retail-related IT positions the New York area.
